Are you struggling with ideas for Orthodox Christian Christmas gifts? No need to worry, I’ve got you covered!
I have always loved Christmas! Even when I was anti-religion, before I was baptized in the Orthodox Church, I absolutely loved the Christmas season — the feel of the season, the decorations, the music, and the constant gatherings of friends and family.
As the holiday season approaches, my love for Christmas only deepens. From the festive ambiance to the joyous gatherings with friends and family, there’s an undeniable magic in the air.
However, it always bothered me how much stuff people buy. I understand it’s about giving, but I feel like gifts should have a little more meaning and thought behind them.
While my home is still cluttered with more items than I can manage, I’m working to scale back a tiny bit each day. I don’t want to give gifts that will just get stuffed in the back of a closet or eventually thrown away or donated. I’m sure many of my readers feel the same way.
Over the seasons, my perspective has shifted, and I’ve embraced a more minimalist approach, valuing gifts that carry sentimental meaning over mere material abundance.
In that spirit, I’m excited to share a curated list of Christmas gifts that align with this philosophy. These selections go beyond the conventional and embrace the essence of thoughtful giving, aiming to create moments of connection and significance during this special time of year.

Orthodox Christian Christmas Gifts Ideas
Orthodox Study Bible
I personally love the Orthodox Study Bible because it includes additional books that aren’t found in other Bibles, such as the King James Version.
Another noteworthy feature is that its Old Testament utilizes the Septuagint translated from Greek to English, rather than the Hebrew Masoretic text.
This would make a great Christmas gift for any Orthodox Christian who still carries around the KJV.
Songs of Praise Devotional
This is a Psalter Devotional for Orthodox women by Sylvia Leontaritis. I love this Psalter because it has wide margins for note-taking or doodling, and it has a very pretty, feminine feel to it.
This Psalter would be a great gift for any Orthodox woman in your life.
The Ascetic Life of Mothers
This is the first prayer book I bought after being baptized in the Orthodox Faith. As a mother, I found this book extremely insightful.
It is full of prayers for various situations and seasons of life. Any Orthodox mother would be extremely grateful to receive this prayer book as a gift.
Prayer Books
Maybe you’re shopping for someone who isn’t a mother. In that case, you can find different Orthodox Prayer Books through eBay here or through Amazon here.
Apocrypha: An Introduction to Extra-Biblical Literature by Stephen De Young
I haven’t actually read this book yet, but I’m planning to do so very soon, and I’ve heard many good things about it.
I first learned of the author, Fr. Stephen De Young, from The Lord of Spirits Podcast with Fr. Andrew Stephen Damick.
The Lord of Spirits: An Orthodox Christian Framework for the Unseen World and Spiritual Warfare by Andrew Stephen Damick
This is another book I have not yet read, but it’s on my list. If you have any loved ones who listen to The Lord of Spirits Podcast, they will definitely appreciate this book as a gift!

Komboskoini, Prayer Rope Bracelet
These bracelets are used for the Jesus Prayer and make it convenient to pray wherever you are. They do come quite small, but mine stretched around my wrist without a problem.
The Komboskoini makes a simple and inexpensive gift.
2025 ICON Calendar
Icon calendars are always a great addition to an Orthodox Christian home. They add more Orthodox imagery to your walls, beyond just the Icon Corner.
The calendar serves a practical purpose and contributes to the spiritual atmosphere by featuring icons corresponding to different feast days, saints, and significant events in the Orthodox calendar.
Orthodox Icons
Orthodoxy has a rich tradition of iconography, representing saints, biblical scenes, and religious themes. Icons make excellent gifts any time of the year, as Orthodox Christians can always appreciate the addition of another.
A Jesus or Theotokos Icon is a great choice! Alternatively, consider selecting an Icon of their Patron Saint or perhaps another saint you think would be helpful in their situation.
You can also get some great Icons through Legacy Icons or even eBay!
Crocheted Censer
These cute little censers are great for small children and liturgical play. They’re simple yet beautiful toys. Plus, handmade items always have a special touch, right?
They can also be used as tools to teach children about liturgical practices, rituals, and the significance of items used in church ceremonies.
These censers from Cozy House Curios are simply adorable!
